Foo Fighters Release Documentary, Add Tour Dates, Give Promoters a Wacky “Ride”

Foo Fighters - Big MeThe Foo Fighters continue to promote themselves and have a little fun while doing so.

In stores now is the DVD version of the feature-length documentary, Foo Fighters: Back and Forth (Spitfire/Roswell/RCA), chronicling Grohl’s days in Nirvana right up to the recording of The Foo Fighter’s latest release, Wasting Light.

The band has also added more dates to their North American tour, tickets for which go on sale to the general public June 17th.

Perhaps most notably, Grohl and the gang have put together the mother of all concert riders for the lucky promotors at venues being rocked by their 2011 tour. Riders are typically a list of demands that venues must fulfill as compensation for the musical talent such as bottled water, food, alcohol, etc.

The Foos created is a 52-page document that includes a maze, a word search of catering “don’ts” (devo hats, grass clippings, and fried beagle are apparently not welcome) and a detailed description of different varieties of ice, complete with illustrations (They dub the mother of all ice cubes “The Chunklet,” saying, “We squeal like six-year-old girls with skinned knees when we see this ice!”).

The rules from the rider encourage colored pencils for completing its activities and also provide helpful life lessons such as “Men should never wear turtlenecks.”

Below, check out a piece of the rider via The Smoking Gun.
