Free Music Friday: Furthur Live @ Bill Graham Civic Auditorium 3/12/2010
Both Bob Weir and Phil Lesh, formerly of Grateful Dead, pulled from various rock groups like Dark Star Orchestra and RatDog to put together Furthur–a band who’s name pays homage to the tour bus driven cross-country by Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters back in the 60s.
With Jerry gone, the boys figured this was the best way to scratch their awful itch and get back to where they belong– the stage.
Still offering up many of The Dead’s most reputable tunes and new ones alike, Furthur is a treat that everyone should get to see… regardless of the distance.
