Monday Blues: Johnny Winter & Derek Trucks-”Highway 61 Revisited (Live @ Crossroads)”
Johnny Winter and Derek Trucks‘ performance of Bob Dylan‘s “Highway 61 Revisited” @ Crossroads 2009 explains several things:
1. Johnny Winter is one of the best blues guitarists in history.
2. Derek Trucks‘ eyes tell me that he also believes No. 1 to be true.
2. Crossroads would be one of the most bad ass festivals to attend.
4. Writing songs about state roads often creates hits.
Johnny Winter covered “Highway 61 Revisited” back in 1969 and released it on his second studio album entitled Second Winter.
If I had to guess Winter’s rock-flared version was highly congratulated by Mr. Dylan.
Enjoy!
