Monday Blues: The Black Keys- “Keep Your Hands Off Her”
Modern blues has taken on a life of its own in the last 5-10 years and is making a new wave of blues relevant across the globe.
Two dudes. One objective. Zero complaints.
The Black Keys have been right up front. Their song “Keep Your Hands Off Her” is a perfect example of the direction American blues is headed in, the right one for sure. Their use of timing and short lyrics are strategies borrowed and preserved from the greats of yester-year; but, these are very necessary to maintain as a foundation for the band’s continued exploration.
She’s all mine
She mine, all mine, all mine
I love the way she walks
Yeah, she walk good
I love the way she talks
Aw yeah she talk good
Keep your hands off of my girl
She don’t belong to you
Love her, I love her, I love her
I love her, I love her, I love her
Keep your hands off of my girl
She don’t belong to you
Enjoy. The Black Keys are currently on tour in the UK.
