Springsteen Surprises Audience With Clarence Clemons Tribute
Bruce Springsteen was sitting in on Nick Clemons‘, son of Clarence Clemons, solo show last night at Asbury Park’s Wonder Bar in New Jersey and decided once the Soul Cruisers came on that it was an appropriate time to climb the stage and play a 45-minute tribute to the boys father and his long time bandmate.
The crowd consisted of no more than 400 people.
The band played plenty of covers with The Boss including ”Ain’t Too Proud Too Beg,” “Sweet Soul Music,” “Shake,” “Raise Your Hand” and “Knock On Wood.”
This was the first time Springsteen had performed since Clemons’ funeral on June 21.
